Experience The Freedom

Fashionable eyeglasses and high-quality contact lenses are a popular option at Total Vision Financial District, but that doesn’t mean we don’t consider the freedom of laser surgery from time to time!

Our team will provide a thorough consultation and look closely at your prescription to determine if you’re a candidate. Should you opt for the procedure, we’ll be at your side to help co-manage your recovery.

If you’re considering a life with less reliance on lenses, please give us a call and book a laser surgery consultation in San Francisco today.

Your Consultation

Comprehensive consultations are necessary for determining if laser eye surgery can improve your vision. Patients with refractive errors like myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism usually benefit from laser eye surgery.

Our optometrists will provide a thorough eye examination, and look for factors that may affect your recovery from eye surgery, like:

Once we’ve determined that you can have laser eye surgery safely, we’ll refer you to one of our trusted ophthalmologists.

LASIK Eye Surgery

LASIK is a commonly performed surgery to help correct refractive errors

Your ophthalmologist uses numbing drops to prepare your eyes and make you comfortable before surgery. Then, a small incision is made in the top layer of your cornea to create a thin “flap.” This flap is folded back, exposing the underlying corneal tissue. A preprogrammed laser then reshapes your cornea to the desired prescription.

Co-Managing Your Recovery

After surgery, there may be some discomfort or mild pain. It is recommended to arrange transportation home and take a few days of rest following your procedure. Many patients experience clear vision in less than 24 hours after surgery and can recover fully within a month.

You’ll be scheduled a series of follow-up appointments at Total Vision Financial District to ensure a full recovery.

It’s vital to note that not every patient achieves perfect vision after laser eye surgery. Some patients will continue to wear glasses or contact lenses, but the majority of patients achieve 20/20 or 20/40 vision after surgery.
